Alien Apocalypse Review

Bruce Campbell is one of the few actors of our generation that can take a B grade campy sci-fi/horror movie and make it truly amazing.

Dr. Ivan Hood (Bruce Campbell) and his team of astronauts return from their latest mission, only to find that Earth has been conquered and enslaved by aliens.

Now Hood and fellow-scientist Kelly (Renée O'Connor) must free humanity from its alien masters.   Written and directed by Bruce Campbell's friend Josh Becker ("Running Time"), "Alien Apocalypse" is the story of a manned probe that returns to Earth to discover the planet has been invaded and the people enslaved by awful exraterrestrial termites, feeding off our dwindling forests.  Together with fellow Xena-alum Renee O'Connor, Bruce rallies humanity and rebels against the lumber-munching masters. "Think Spartacus with aliens."

The movie is littered with hilarious one liners, cheesy and I do mean CHEESY special FX and funny as hell cheap fight sequences. But you know what? It is worth every dollar to buy this movie. From start to finish I was pissing my pants laughing. Bruce Campbell can deliver the best character even surrounded by the worst Fx and horrible co-stars. He is just a star and his presence is proven by the fact that not event the weakest  film factors can bring him down.

Renee O'Connor was also quite good in this movie and overall it was really a fun movie. I would suggest that people who enjoy Evil Dead, Man with the Screaming Brain will also love this movie. I have this high up on my BUY list. It is cheesy, it is lame and it is hilarious. Think Brave Heat on a $2 budget. You got less then epic sweeping battles, you have assaults on less then "fortified" forts that will have you giggling like a monkey on crack, and best of all you have Bruce. This is the best low budget movie I have seen in a very very long time. Long live Josh Becker the writer, director and the Chin, Bruce Campbell!
