5 Things You Should Never Say In A Horror Movie

Even in a fantastic horror movie, there always seems to be at least one character who says something stupid which eventually leads to them being killed. I would think that people would learn over time not to say these things, but they don’t. Today I want to share five phrases that you should never say in a horror movie, just in case you ever find yourself in one. Avoiding these lines could save your life.

“I’ll be right back”

When you say this in a horror movie, chances are you won’t be back. You’ll go downstairs or into the attic or outside and you will die. It might be an accident, such as falling down the stairs, but most likely the killer will intentionally kill you because you have gone out on your own and you aren’t paying attention to your surroundings. Usually it’s the “joker” character who says this to be funny, but dying is no joke, so just don’t say it!

“Who’s there?”

What, you think the killer is going to answer you? They’re not going to say oh it’s Susan, I’m just making a sandwich in the kitchen and then I’m going to kill you with your own kitchen knife. Asking this question will only tell the killer where you are so that they can kill you faster. Don’t ask who’s there, because it’s a very bad idea.

“Did you hear that?”

Saying this usually leads to checking out the noise, which may get you killed. If you do hear a noise and there’s even the slightest chance that someone may be out to hurt or kill you, just leave the area immediately. If you have people in your group who don’t believe you and won’t leave the area, just leave them behind. There’s no sense in bringing along people who think you’re crazy and will only slow you down. When you leave, just make sure you go in the opposite direction of the noise, and not towards it to the killer in waiting.

“Let’s split up”

There is always at least one person who thinks it’s a good idea to split up. Whether the reason is to distract the killer, find a missing friend or look for help. The best idea is just to stay in a group. The more people that you have around, the better chance you have to stay alive. Groups are always safer! Never ever split up; it’s a horrible idea!

“I think we killed him/ her/ them/ it”

Usually this is said at the end of a film when the survivors think they have killed the killer and they are standing around the body. In most cases, this is not true. You need to make sure the killer is dead, by any means necessary. This means cutting off their head, stabbing or shooting them in the brain, or setting them on fire and making sure they burn! Don’t just THINK the killer is dead; you need to KNOW they are dead!
