Exclusive : New Friday the 13th Movie Details Confirmed!

Chris Egan

Jason Derek Mears 1We have just learned some new details on the upcoming Friday the 13th movie and they most likely won’t make many Jason fans, like myself, very happy.

I have just confirmed via a reliable source the Friday the 13th 3D rumors that have been swirling around since late 2011.

According to my source the new Friday the 13th will indeed be a found-footage film so long as Paramount’s current plans stay on track.┬áThis is a style that fans have emphatically regarded as not right for the franchise.

With the rights fully back in the hands of Paramount plans were really up in the air as for what direction the series would go in.

Would it be a direct sequel to the “reboot” or carry on from the original films? Though where it would pick up from there would be a whole other ordeal. Well, it seems that they really want to mess with us and disappoint us with their plans for the thirteenth Friday the 13th. Not only will it be shaky-cam, but it will also be yet another reboot of the series.

I’m sure the fan uproar against this will be plentiful. As a fan of the 2009 film, I thought it fit in well with the original series (with its plethora of series references) while bringing a modern style to it.

Guess we’ll wait and see how this all turns out. Hopefully some good news will come out of this. I would love to see Derek Mears return as Jason.

      5. Jeff Martin (@X_the_Unknown) January 10, 2014 at 12:10 am

        Good g*****n. This is ridiculous.
How does found footage fit into this franchise at all, considering it ACTUALLY begins in, what, 1958? No camcorders back then, kids.

      6. Jeremy Kronenwetter January 10, 2014 at 12:10 am

Wtf? Why must they continue and not put it to rest.

damn, in my opinion after Friday the 13th part 7 the franchise went well down hill! smh! now it’s just being butchered more n more.

      11. Jalen Barry January 10, 2014 at 12:14 am

        All his movies is great

      12. Tim Bearden January 10, 2014 at 12:14 am

This is truly the one thing they could do that would make me say “Noooo” like Vader. If somehow they pull this off, it could be neat but I just have no clue how that’s possible.

I hate it as well, they shouldve left well enough alone after the Blair Witch Project.

I don’t mind it, but I seriously don’t want it used for a Jason flick. I’m hugely disappointed.

      13. David Martin January 10, 2014 at 12:16 am

        Don’t support it.

      15. Zach Pitts January 10, 2014 at 12:19 am

      16. Cobie Hammond January 10, 2014 at 12:21 am

this is the WORST idea ever their are only few found footage films i like V/H/S 1 and 2, and The Blair Witch Project ,most of em suck and they wanna do the 13th film of the Friday the 13th in this style #NONONONONONONONONONONO

      19. Tiago January 10, 2014 at 12:23 am

Finally someone that also likes the 2009 version. I mean, it is not as good as the first 4 movies, but it is nice.
About this new one, I really won’t believe until I see it. I am still on the hope they come to their senses and give up that stupid idea.

        • Herner Klenthur January 10, 2014 at 12:25 am

I did not LOVE THE remake but I wont say I hate it either. I hated the Nightmare on Elm Street remake.

      20. Antony Lord Watts January 10, 2014 at 12:24 am

Loved the originals, thought the reboot was ok. This new one will just be a joke.

      21. Kira Ashley Marie Andrews January 10, 2014 at 12:24 am

Stupid I think they should stop making these movies already

      23. Nick Sible January 10, 2014 at 12:25 am

At least Rob Zombie isn’t directing it! He destroyed the Halloween Franchise!

      24. David Martin January 10, 2014 at 12:26 am

It’s all you people who see those dumb ass Paranormal pictures that are to blame. Stop supporting these asinine film ideas. Hollywood wake the fuck up!

      25. Nick Sible January 10, 2014 at 12:27 am

It actually could workout, would love to see f13 back on the big screen

      26. EGANTOR January 10, 2014 at 12:30 am

Far from a perfect film, but still fun Slasher fare. I think Derek Mears’ performance had a lot do with making it a decent movie. And I too hope that maybe the negative reactions to this will make them change their minds, but how often does that happen?

      27. Scott TheDirector January 10, 2014 at 12:30 am

Can’t be worse than the sh***y Michael “I Suck” Bay remake from a few years ago.

      28. Jason McGrath January 10, 2014 at 12:31 am

        Sounds interesting. Go for it!

      30. Foo-g Wreggelsworth January 10, 2014 at 12:34 am

I think if done right, they could make this really scary.

      31. TGIF13 January 10, 2014 at 12:35 am

Yup, stupid idea. At least let me direct it. That’s all I ask for at this point!

      32. Jesse Siepmann January 10, 2014 at 12:41 am

Cant say I enjoy POVs but I actually liked the 09 for what I knew it was gonna be. But this ISN’T the right move. I’m sure it won’t be BAD.. and other modern/reboot/sequals were done way worse (EvilDead/>Nightmare..<) BUT this COULD be done way better.

      33. Marc Thibodeau January 10, 2014 at 12:48 am

i`m still waiting for Jason on Mars..

      34. Anthony Cashmere January 10, 2014 at 12:53 am

Well…as long as their is lots of bloody carnage..who cares if it is all recorded on found video cam!!!

      35. Alan Clague January 10, 2014 at 1:01 am

I want them to run off the remake . Bring back Derek Mears . Kept the crapy comedy out 8,9, X ,freddy vs Jason fuck those 4 movies . Make it like the original 2,3,4 style .

      36. Billiam Chalmers January 10, 2014 at 1:05 am

i think this movie was good they should make a part 2 since jason cant die čśŤ

      37. Jesse Lane Moore January 10, 2014 at 1:16 am

So make a played out movie in a played out style….. Sounds like a plan there Paramount…. :/

      38. Luke Nutley January 10, 2014 at 1:18 am

        Just fucked.

      39. Justin Meece January 10, 2014 at 1:21 am

awesome i can’t wait to see this movie its gonna be awesome :)

      40. Peta Somers January 10, 2014 at 1:22 am

I personally would like more about his mother and perhaps his father and his childhood. I loved the latest Texas Chainsaw Massacre and thought it was done perfectly. Perhaps they could get some tips from that movies writers.

      41. Kelly Hess January 10, 2014 at 1:31 am

Screw the bullshit “found footage” idea, and go with a prequel to the original :) THAT would be bad-ass!!!!!

      44. JoshS (@misterjoshua77) January 10, 2014 at 1:38 am

        Found Footage F13 film – Budget…probably 5 to 6 million dollars…will still open to 20 million + opening weekend. Paramount wins…

Seriously though. Folks need to settle down. While not enthused about the found footage idea, I also hated the idea of a POV Maniac remake and that movie was fantastic. Let it happen first. Then if is sucks, crucify it, go nuts, burn it in effigy. But have some patience there will be a lot worse films between now and then that we can bitch about.

        • James McDonald January 10, 2014 at 3:38 am

I was going to try and edit my reply, but I will respond to your comment. I understand it costs so much millions of dollars to film a high-quality movie these days and to have the professional studio cameras. I know I will watch the new Friday the 13th movie even if it is shaky-cam. But seeing it on DVD probably won’t hurt my eyes so much as seeing it in the movie theater. Remember Cloverfield?

      45. Stacey Sullivan January 10, 2014 at 1:50 am

I’m just happy We’re getting another Film regardless of what happens in it.

      46. shane maul January 10, 2014 at 2:06 am

I have been a fan since 1980! I was getting real dissapointed after the 5th Friday the 13th. But i hung in there and was very impresses by the remake in 2009! Now they want to destroy our beloved Jason Vorhees by a found footage film! Crap!!!

      47. Michael Ponzio January 10, 2014 at 3:10 am

Arent they doing that for Texas chainsaw as well

      48. Chris Favoright January 10, 2014 at 3:23 am

        Fucking lame

      49. James McDonald January 10, 2014 at 3:33 am

I hate when a scene is done by shaky-cam. Now a whole movie in shaky-cam? If they make the new Friday the 13th like Paranormal Activity, the movie is going to be horrible. “Found Footage” reminds me of what they did in Paranormal Activity 3.

      50. OldLaughingLady January 10, 2014 at 5:24 am

I’m actually happy about this. I’m a big Friday the 13th fan though and like Jason X and Friday Part V, lol.

      51. John Renzoni January 10, 2014 at 6:09 am

Not another one . These movies have gone back to the well too many times. The well is dry? So Michael, Jason, and Freddy..,,take a break. Let’s see a redone , Pinhead, an updated , big budget, Hell Raiser (a Rob Zombie version)

        • Patrick Lubben
Patrick Lubben January 10, 2014 at 9:41 am

Rob Zombies doesn’t do horror anymore

        This is garbage.
        This is flies on garbage.
        This rumor is false.

      53. Lucas January 10, 2014 at 6:57 am

This concept really sucks!!! not a fan of the shaky camera it actually makes me feel nauseated
after about the first minute. whoever made this decision from paramount needs to talk to the fans of the series i’m sure they can come up with a better idea than this really stupid concept!!!

      54. JD January 10, 2014 at 7:09 am

I’m sick of bootleg like film. Stop with the Mr. Blurry Cam trend.

      56. Andrew Steven Garner January 10, 2014 at 7:39 am

meh mask killers in horror movies are irrelevant. I love the old Friday The 13th movies, Halloween movies Etc but seriously it’s the same old same old shit.

      57. Patrick Lubben January 10, 2014 at 9:40 am

I like the ”fresh” idea of using found footage, but why the hell would there be a F13 found footage movie? It’s not like ”oh Jason is coming after me I have to run while holding a goddam camera the whole time”.

        • James McDonald January 10, 2014 at 6:12 pm

Thank you Patrick. At least someone has some common sense.

      60. Ryan January 10, 2014 at 2:29 pm

Where are you hearing these confirmed rumors from?

      61. Robbie January 10, 2014 at 3:01 pm

I think it’s a good idea, Friday the 13th needs to be scary, found footage films are tense, unpredictable and scary, it’s time to make Jason frightening again.

      62. Adam Barbour January 10, 2014 at 3:02 pm

They made 5 horrible movies that weren’t found footage style so it can’t get worse

      63. mike January 10, 2014 at 3:11 pm

R they f***ing nuts? They wanna spoil the franchise!!!

      64. Mike Sorge January 10, 2014 at 4:59 pm

        Found-footage style? Ooh, that’s a bit iffy. :/

      65. Sammy Reuben Quesada January 10, 2014 at 5:03 pm

Fucking Jason nerds. FREDDY KRUEGER RULES ALL! Lol….

      66. doctorhavok January 10, 2014 at 5:29 pm

If the source for this is the same article that was floating around yesterday, It was written in November, and doesn’t site it’s sources either…I don’t want to call anyone out as spreading untruths, but so far this is the only site that i consider reputable that is reporting this as fact. I would like to see the source for this.

        • Herner Klenthur January 11, 2014 at 12:55 pm

Hey Havok this rumor has been around for awhile. I own the site and noticed Chris had no source and asked him to add his source. Since it has not been done I will send him a reminder.

Chris is new on the site and still learning. Tks for reading!

      67. Swizz January 11, 2014 at 2:33 am

Found footage? Lame! Let’s be realistic what person would even be Thinkin “hey let me keep this camera on so I get this footage of a machedy weilding psycho tryin to kill me.”

      68. maximefrance January 11, 2014 at 5:26 pm

        It breaks my heart.
RIP Friday The 13th… It’s not like the series was a real quality stint as a whole, but still… I agree that the 2009 remake was really cool and so it’s weird they chose this cheap and easy cash machine reason of a movie.
        Hate that news.

      69. Aaron Cox January 12, 2014 at 4:27 am

Love Jason but Hate POV… I am in the middle with this. I really wish they would have given up on the POV cam thing already, but it makes money.

      70. Alan Flickinger January 14, 2014 at 4:14 am

They should just make Jason go’s to Canada
Ha Ha ha jw .. but the fact there may not even be a Jason in this I just stupid
