Herner Klenthur

Time for another installment of New on Netflix. This go around we have a list of the newest titles to land on Netflix Canada for our Canadian readers. Hope you enjoy it! In no particular order here is a list of the very latest horror movie additions to Netflix with some commentary where applicable.

A hallucinogenic trip goes bad when a group of college kids on holiday in Ireland munch some magic mushrooms and become plagued by nightmarish visions of death. But are they really being stalked and killed, or is it just drug-induced paranoia?

The Revenant

Killed during the Iraq War, Bart mysteriously awakens as a revenant — a living corpse that requires human blood to keep from decaying. Helped by his goofy bud Joey, Bart tries to satiate his thirst as a vigilante, hunting and feasting on criminals.

The Revenant is an absolutely genius horror comedy and is basically a modern twist on Dead Heat!

Regina has moved into a foreboding house in the country, dragged there by her well-meaning mother and father. But their parental wisdom may not be enough, as the home’s dark past begins to haunt them and the entire family is put into peril.

The Collection

After escaping the dungeon of a serial killer, a man is forced to return to the house of horrors to help save a woman now in the killer’s clutches. The squad of mercenaries leading the rescue must first find their way through a maze of lethal traps.

The Faculty

Many teens think their teachers hail from another planet — but what if it’s true? Herrington High students notice that faculty members aren’t quite themselves, and discover an alien infection they might not be able to stop.

The Faculty is one of the best teen horror movies of all time.

Newly coupled Chris and Tina embark on an RV road trip to take in England’s unique sights and rolling countryside. But as events and people inadvertently raise Chris’s ire, the trip takes a gory wrong turn.

Sightseers is quirky, strange and interesting. You will either love it or you will hate it.

The Bell Witch Haunting

At the scene of an apparent murder-suicide, a Tennessee family’s video footage suggests their deaths mark the return of a centuries-old demon. The entity — a true legend in this region — is known for mercilessly tormenting a family in the 1800s.

Wolf Creek

A sun-baked adventure in Australia’s outback becomes a grisly ordeal for two British tourists and their Aussie pal when they cross paths with a genial bushman who turns out to be a sadistic serial killer.

Wolf Creek is one of the best modern horror movies of our time and put Greg McLean on the map as a modern master of horror.

Panic Button

Trapped at 30,000 feet aboard a private airplane, four helpless friends are forced to fight for their lives — and the lives of their loved ones — by participating in a strange and twisted in-flight entertainment game.

I love the idea of a Panic Button at 30,000 feet. Is that like a Panic Room in a lava pit?

Breaking the Girls

College sophomores Sara and Alex, roommates who’ve become intimate, idly joke about killing each other’s enemies. But now someone’s been murdered. Was one of them taking things too far, or is someone else playing a deadly game with the lovers?

V/H/S 2

Two private eyes investigating the disappearance of a student discover horrific content on a collection of VHS tapes in his home. But these videos don’t just document evil … they actually contain a very dark presence.

Ghost Rider 2 : Spirit of Vengeance

When the devil resurfaces with aims to take over the world in human form, Johnny Blaze (Nicolas Cage) reluctantly comes out of hiding to transform into the flame-spewing supernatural hero Ghost Rider — and rescue a 10-year-old boy from an unsavory end.

Ghost Rider 2 was much better then the first one but it still was not a good movie. How did they screw this franchise up so badly?

The Seasoning House

Angel, a deaf and mute orphan, is enslaved to care for the girls of the Seasoning House, who are forcefully prostituted to the military. As Angel moves between the walls and crawlspaces of the brothel, she plots her escape and her brutal revenge.

The Seasoning house is in a word brutal and gripping!

Was wondering if y’all could make an updated Netflix list (America) please. lol. I’m not sure if Netflix is different for Canada, but I’m assuming by the title that it is. All of the amazing movies you guys have listed the last 4 years, I haven’t seen 85% of them because you can’t find them anywhere and as much as I’d LOVE to go to film festivals I definitely don’t have the means to.
