PLAY DEAD : Dogs vs Zombies Horror Short

Herner Klenthur

I absolutely love it when indie filmmakers turn out gems. Some of the most talented horror directors are still plugging away as relative unknowns doing fantastic short films.

The horror short PLAY DEAD is a great example of this. It gives a truly unique perspective on the zombie apocalypse and is in a word fantastic.

Andres and Diego Meza-Valdes film ‘Play Dead’ is a clear example of what passion, talent and no budget can result in.

This horror short which pays homage to 28 Days Later and George Romero’s Dawn of The Dead has an outstanding premise and is a truly polished horror short. Check it out below and share it with your friends and help build some buzz for these talented filmmakers.

Awesome, original idea. Had to have taken a lot of work to work with all the animals.

I’m offended. In a survival situation if you’re going to eat dog, cat, wild rabbit, etc don’t grill the meat; make a stew, grilling the meat will just leave it dry; just because it’s the apocalypse doesn’t mean you shouldn’t enjoy your meal. Dog soup, braised dog, dog stew, stir fried dog and dog meat hot pots are all very good ways of having a good meal in spite of the chaos that surrounds you.

Good movie; I would like to see this done with a more serious and realistic tone. A story of a boy and his dog, boy dies, becomes undead, dog must fend for itself, and transition from domesticated animal to feral. It might require a bit of veterinary and animal behavior research but I’m sure a film maker would love the challenge.
