Herner Klenthur

The filmmakers have just sent us over the trailer for Welsh horror film Dead of The Nite starring Tony Todd which they are calling ‘Paranormal Activity meets Halloween’ . The film stars Tony Todd, Suzi Lorraine and Simon Bamford.

The film follows a group of ghost hunters whose hopeful date with the deceased in the bowels of a haunted castle becomes a bloody battle for survival as one by one they meet their own demise, raising the question as to whether they are being hunted by a cold blooded killer or a supernatural force. DEAD OF THE NITE puts a modern twist on the classical ghost story, combining the found footage shocks of PARANORMAL ACTIVITY with the bone-chilling atmosphere and suspense of HALLOWEEN.

The film, the first production from Welsh company Dark Arts Films, Ltd., is written and directed by BAFTA member SJ Evans, who made his feature debut to critical acclaim with the 2010 documentary TATTOOS: A SCARRED HISTORY, and produced and casted by Sousila Pillay. DEAD OF THE NITE also stars Joseph Millson (CASINO ROYALE, HOLBY CITY), Gary Mavers (DEVIL’S BRIDGE), Paul Fox (RED TAILS), Cicely Tennant (BLOODED) and Claudio Pacifico (PRINCE OF PERSIA).

Horror Movies Needs to Have a Really Good Writer with a Really Good Imagination! We Need to Get Away from The Gore, and Concentrate on What is TRUE Horror, and NOT How to Grose People Out! I Like Leatherface, But THE Leatherface Doesn’t Kill For Fun! he Thinks with His Stomach, NOT From Any Joy for Pain or Torture! I Would Play Leatherface The Way Tobe Hooper Meant Him to Be! But Leatherface is NOT Seeking Revenge! He is Seeking FOOD! Like a Bunch of Hungry Campers Seeking Fish & Chips! JAWS Thought With His Stomach, as Does The Blob, Pirranhas and Zombies! Let’s Rethink What REALLY Makes Us Jumpy!

I think it’s a great crossover of the two genres showing the investigation into the found footage whilst using the found footage to tell the story too. This film seems like a step in the right direction for horror movies and with a talented cast I think this film will become a cult classic.
