Friday the 13th Sequel to Begin Filming SoonWhile what we have here for you today is pretty small in terms of news, it is a very big step in the right direction. Recently it was announced that the rights to Friday the 13th went back to Paramount Pictures, and Platinum Dunes would be producing the sequel. Unfortunately that was about it and we haven’t heard anything since.

This is where Twitter comes into play. Platinum Dunes producer Brad Fuller recently responded to a question put out by Twitter user @superchecco asking just where is the Friday the 13th sequel? And this is what Fuller responded with.

We are wrapping TMNT and Almanac over the next month. Then we start to work on F13.

Like I said, it’s not much, but it does give us some sort of time frame, so could the sequel begin filming in a few months? Perhaps for a Winter release in 2014/15? What do you guys think? Hit us up with what you want to see in the sequel.

I am happy to hear this. I just truly hope that it takes place in the winter like what was originally proposed way back when. I think a frozen Crystal Lake and blood on the snow would be a cool and new twist on the franchise.

This time NO STUPID CAVES and hire a director that likes if not loves the actual story/characters.

So this is a sequel to the original first one…..or where is this one supposed to stem off of

I agree. Hopefully we will get that Winter setting with the frozen lake, but who knows? I can only assume that this will be a sequel to the remake, but who knows with Paramount back in control. Either way, lets just hope they do the film justice and give us fans what we want.

I want to see Kane Hodder back playing the part of Jason.

+1 for Randall. Kane IS Jason. Although, Derek Mears is a great dude. Very grateful, very humble. Wouldn’t be a deal-breaker for me if Mears played Jason again.
