Red Band Trailer for Suburban Gothic

“Suburban Gothic” is a new horror-comedy film that’ll be making it’s world premiere at this years Fantasia Fest in Montreal.  And, thanks to Deadline, we now have a red band trailer to let us know what it’s all about.  Red band, that means NSFW kiddies.

“Suburban Gothic” stars Matthew Gray Gubler (“Criminal Minds”) and Kat Dennings (“Two Broke Girls”) and is directed by Richard Bates Jr. who co-wrote the film.  According to Deadline, the film is about a aimless young man named “Raymond (Gubler), who moves back in with his parents and finds new purpose by putting his ability to channel the paranormal to use when a vengeful ghost starts terrorizing his town.”

Check out the trailer below and journey to Fantasia Fest’s website to learn more about the festival.  What do you think of the trailer? Personally, I think it could be a good laugh, but I also get the feeling that it’s trying to hard to capture that “indie spirit.”  Could be just the trailer, but it feels like it’s trying to hit certain beats that’ll appeal to an indie crowd.  Guess we’ll have to wait and see what the reviews are like coming out of Fantasia Fest.
