“Sinister” now joins the growing number of franchises featured under the Blumhouse banner as the sequel to the 2012 hit horror film finally gets a release date.
Focus Features has announced that “Sinister 2” will hit theaters on August 21, 2015. Blumhouse Productions will be shepherding the project. Directing the film will be Ciaran Foy, who is taking over for Scott Derrickson who will probably be buys directing the big superhero production “Doctor Strange.” However, Derrickson will still be working on the script with his co-writer C. Robert Cargill. It was also confirmed that actor James Ransone would be returning for the next film.
That’s pretty much all we know for now, but filming is expected to start shortly so we should be hearing casting and plot details soon enough.
