‘Saw 8’ Becomes ‘Jigsaw’ – Release Date Officially Announced

The eighth film in the Saw franchise had a title of Saw: Legacy floating around, but it appears as if the powers that be have decided on something a little more straight to the point, the new title is simply Jigsaw and their official Facebook page have just confirmed that Jigsaw will indeed be heading to theatres this October 27, 2017.

While we don’t have any new information, this is what we do know.

Peter and Michael Spierig (Daybreakers) directed from a script by Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfiner.

The film stars Tobin Bell, Mandela Van Peebles, Shaquan Lewis, Laura Vandervoort, Brittany Allen, Matt Passmore, Hannah Emily Anderson, Josiah Black, Michael Boisvert, Callum Keith Rennie, and James Gomez.

SynopsisBodies are turning up around the city, each having met a uniquely gruesome demise. As the investigation proceeds, evidence points to one man: John Kramer. But how can this be? The man known as Jigsaw has been dead for over a decade. Or has an apprentice picked up the mantle of Jigsaw, perhaps even someone inside the investigation?

And of course, the film has been rated R for “grisly bloody violence and torture“. You know, just in case you thought this was a tutorial on how to complete a jigsaw.

So, are you guys stoked that Saw will be making its way back during the Halloween season? Who or what would you like to see in the eighth entry?
