James Wan to Produce New Adaptation of Stephen King’s ‘Salem’s lot’

While “Pet Semetary” didn’t light the world on fire there are are still adaptations of Stephen King’s works in the pipeline.  They may not be coming as fast as they were following the release of “It,” but they’re still coming.  In fact, a new one was announced today.

According to the Wrap New Line is currently working on a new adaptation of “Salem’s Lot.” A couple of names are attached to the project at this moment. The biggest one being James Wan, but he appears to be just serving as a producer for now.  The other major name is Gary Dauberman who will be adapting the Stephen King story.  Dauberman previously adapted “IT” and more recently directed “Annabelle Comes Home.”

In “Salem’s Lot” a writer returns to his childhood home town only to discover that the residents are now vampires.  I keep saying a new adaptation of this story as there have been two previous made-for-TV productions including one starring Rob Lowe.

Stay tuned as we see what comes of this newest King adaptation.
