Some taglines of horror movies are simply awesome. They can make you want to see a movie more than a movie trailer, and sometimes the taglines are better than the movies themselves. Here are the top 15 horror movie taglines that I love:
Night of the Living Dead (1968) “They won’t stay dead”

Black Christmas (1974) “If this movie doesn’t make your skin crawl…it’s on too tight!”

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) “Who will survive and what will be left of them?”

Dawn of the Dead (1978) “When there’s no more room in Hell, the dead will walk the earth”

Halloween (1978) “The night HE came home”

Alien (1979) “In space no one can hear you scream”

Poltergeist (1982) “They’re here”

A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) “If Nancy doesn’t wake up screaming, she won’t wake up at all…”

Silver Bullet (1985) “It started in May in a small town. And every month after that whenever the moon was full…it came back”

Pet Sematary (1989) “Sometimes, dead is better”

Arachnophobia (1990) “Eight legs, two fangs, and an attitude”

Edward Scissorhands (1990) “His story will touch you, even though he can’t”

Psycho (1998) “Check in. Relax. Take a shower”

Lake Placid (1999) “Part mystery. Part thriller. Parts missing”

Jason X (2001) “Evil has an upgrade”

What horror movie taglines do you like? Are they from your favourite horror films?

What about the classic 1977 Suspiria “The Only Thing More Terrifying Than The Last 12 Minutes Of This Film Are The First 92.” !
awesome one !
Haha, that’s a good one!
Don’t Go in the House has the best tagline of all time! “In a steel room built for revenge, they die burning… in chains.”
I haven’t heard that one before. That’s awesome!
My favourite is from Dead Snow – EIN! ZWEI DIE!
Best Horror Movie taglines, huh? I have some, which, I’m embarrassed to say (well, not really) that I say them to myself all the time. Here goes ONLY a few…
Chopping Mall- “Where shopping costs you an arm and a leg!” (love that)
Night of the Creeps- “The good news is, your date is here. The bad news is, he’s dead!” (cute!)
Blood Beach- “Just when you thought you could go back in the water, you can’t get to it!” (love it, one of my all time favs, the poster art is just as wicked!)
Prom night- “If you’re not home by Midnite, you won’t be coming home.” (sweet and scary)
Prom Night 2: Hello Mary Lou- “She’s got places to go, and people to kill.” (I’ll sometimes say this to friends on line, or, in person, of course using “I have places…”
Mountain Top Motel Massacre- “Please don’t disturb Evelyn. She already is!!” (fun little movie)
Graduation Day- “The class of 81′, is running out of time!” (cool and exciting, considering Killer Kevin times his ‘attacks’ with a stopwatch!)
Halloween 3- “The Night no one comes Home!” (great catch line, staying true to the first films)
The Outing- “It’s no picnic!” (I laugh everytime I think about this! Bad evil genie!)
Final Exam- “Some may pass the test, God help the Rest!” (I adore this movie)
My Bloody Valentine- “There’s more than one way, to loose your Heart” – (sad, creepy, poetic)
….and finally, probably the best of them all….
Popcorn- “Buy a bag, go home in a Box!” (brilliant! Absolutely brilliant!)
Kevin Brian- (always havin’ fun on my little scary island)
I love those! Especially Chopping Mall and Prom Night 2! I’ve always loved the one for My Bloody Valentine, and I forgot to add it to my list! Damn.
“You have the right to remain silent…forever” (Maniac Cop)
Nice one
Phantasm (1979) “If this one doesn’t scare you, you’re already dead.”
Haha, I like that one.
Be afraid…. be VERY afraid – The Fly. Classic.
Definitely a classic! I’m surprised I forgot that one!
okaay, just like any horror movie sequel, I had to return with a few other favorite taglines. When I say, I think about movies daily, it is truly an understatement. They had such a big impact on my childhood, that I often find myself ‘singing’ these tags at random. So, here goes part two…
Pieces- “It’s exactly what You Think it Is!” (love this!)
Happy Birthday to Me- “Six of the most bizarre murders you will Ever See!” (one of my fav films)
House- “Ding Dong. You’re Dead!” (chuckle)
The Mutilator- “By Sword. By Pick. By Axe. Bye. Bye.” (one of my all time fav sayings)
The Dorm that Dripped Blood- “A crash course in Terror!” (great little film)
Psycho- (90′s remake) Relax. Check in. Take a shower. (wink. wink. wink. clever)
The Kindred- “Anthony isn’t your typical bottle baby.” (makes me laugh whenever I recite it)
Angel- High school honor student by day. Hollywood Hooker by night. (it’s not a true horror movie, more of a thriller, but, that tag is priceless! Anyone agree? the movie is awesome, too)
Class of 1984- “We are the Future, and Nothing can stop us!” (more of a thriller as well, but, nevertheless, a terrific punchline, for an even more terrific film)
The Stuff- “Are You eating it? Are is IT eating you?” (enough said)
…isn’t it funny how so many 80′s poster/taglines come off like silly Wacky Packages?
and finally, one that sums up the 80′s in everyway, and still keeps going today…
Friday the 13th: Part Two- The Bodycount Continues. (yep. that says it all.)
…okay, I officially geeked myself out. I’m gonna go run and hide now, in ‘The Funhouse’ , where you “Pay to get in. Pray to get in!”
…Kevin Brian, always having fun, on my little scary movie island.
I’ve always liked the one for Sleepy Hollow (1999): “Heads will roll”
I like that one too
We’er gonna need a bigger boat. Jaws
