Indie Horror,
Today director Gary Ugarek dropped me a line and let us in on a bunch of exciting things that are happening with the Deadlands franchise. As many of you are already aware he has been hard at work on Deadlands 2 and is now actually working on a new ending. To go a long with that new, more dark and suspenseful ending he is re-working the entire movie with some new music and a new scene.
Besides Deadlands 2 Ugarek told us a bit about his upcoming Deadlands remake, "Back in 2006 I began writing a sequel for Deadlands 1, that was yet to be produced, then in 2007, writer/director Lonnie Martin and I tackled a new draft, then once again, last summer we tackled two additional drafts, the two additional drafts included remaking certain parts of Deadlands: The Rising, and also telling the story from both the outbreak and post apocalypse standpoint."
He continued, "We are now beginning to gear up for this larger version and aim to shoot it around 2011 for a 2012 release, and at the same time produce a third entry for the Deadlands franchise in the lower budget realm. So in the next 3 years there will be a Deadlands 3, and a remake of Deadlands 1."
Thats going to be a lot of zombie action. I'm eager to check out what changes he has made to Deadlands 2 which in my opinion is even better than his first entry. That first film quickly became Tempe's number one seller which is quite a feat considering they also distribute The Dead Next Door and Skinned Alive.
