Dollar Baby Film Fest Time Again

Back in my Creature Corner days I reported on a great little festival called The Dollar Baby Film Fest.  What the hell is that you ask?  A Dollar Baby is a film based on a Stephen King short story that Mr. King has graciously sold to a director for $1 and allowed them to do their thing.

Some very famous directors have started their careers giving birth to a dollar baby. Anyone hear of Mick Garris?  How about Frank Darabont?  Yep, both Dollar Baby directors.  King has made many of his short stories available for Dollar Babies and holding a film festival celebrating them is a great idea.

So, tonight brings in the details on the 2nd annual Film Fest.

Friday Sept. 30th will kick off this year festivities with a showing of Gotham Café at the Cinema 10 in Bangor.  Tickets are $8.

Then on Saturday Oct. 1st the fest kicks into high gear as it moves to the Corbett Business Building at the UNIVERSITY OF MAINE in ORONO and the film showings and panels are plentiful.  The admission for the whole day is $5.  Talk about a deal.

For tall the details you should jump on over to the official site for the fest as they have all the info you could possibly need.

Also, as a side note if you have not yet visited the wonderful site Stephen King Short Movies, you need to head on over there right now (click here).  They have a wonderful collection of Dollar Babies as well as a great collection of other SK related videos.
