The Conjuring Conjures Up the Top Spot at the Box OfficeWe have been talking about James Wan’s The Conjuring for months now, and finally the film has hit the box office and it has done the horror community proud. The film is officially the number one film at the box office this weekend!

According to Deadline, The Conjuring took in $41.5 million this weekend which resulted in the awesome CinemaScore of A- and proves yet again, that horror does in fact kick some serious ass! The reviews have been good and now the film has dominated the box office, so, he you haven’t, will you be checking this one out?

The film had a great run prior to its premiere at the box office. Early screenings were a huge success, and thanks to sites like ours and social media and of course, you, the fans, the film has generated a ton of buzz and that has resulted in big bucks.

As we know, a sequel has already been confirmed, but with the film doing so well for New Line, I’m pretty sure they see franchise material right here. So, are you game for a sequel(s) or should they stop while they’re ahead?

Hit up the comments below and let us know what you thought of the film.

Goes to show, put a good script, with a good director and good actors and what do you get? A good movie! Are you paying attention Hollywood and everyone else?

My husband and I just saw this last night, and we are huge horror fans. It scared us pretty good, considering the last movie that scared us like that was the Exorcist. No, it isn’t the Exorcist, and can’t be compared, but it does have some truly disturbing images that are reminiscent of linda blair in the Exorcist. I also noticed how it seemed to combine ideas and general ‘haunted house’ imagery from the Poltergeist and from the Amityville Horror. This movie is a must see for any horror fan, and IMO is the best new horror film I’ve seen in years, many, many years. Well written and directed. The SPFX were also pretty much spot on.
