AMC FearFest Adds ‘Cult of Chucky’ to it’s October Lineup

The Halloween season is right around the corner so it’s time to start gearing up for the usual annual traditions.  There’s pumpkin carving, haunted houses, fall beer, and AMC’s FearFest.

Now, I hate to be a downer, but FearFest has really gone down in quality over the years.  It used to be a lot longer and the variety of films far greater.  This year it seems like the event is even shorter and it’s all in favor of more… Walking Dead… Yay…

Look, I love me some “Walking Dead,” but AMC really needs to stop with all these damn marathons of it.  This year they’re having a week long marathon of “Walking Dead” to celebrate the episodes premiere and 100th episode.  A good excuse, to be sure, but when you’ve ran as many marathons of the show as they have it certainly doesn’t feel as special.  The marathon will run from October 16th till the 22nd.

Meanwhile, the proper FearFest will only be a week long this year running from October 23rd till the 31st.  And, thanks to Bloody Disgusting, we have a full breakdown of the films they’ll be showing this year.  Among them include a rather big surprise in the form of the latest Chucky film “Cult of Chucky” which is premiering in October.  Be sure to check out the list on their site.

Now, of course, AMC tends to edit their films to hell so if you’re eager to check out “Cult of Chucky” then seeing it on AMC may not be the best bet.  But it’s still pretty cool to see AMC landing fresher films and not just showing the same “Halloween” movies all the time.
