Evolve Scores an October Release

Turtle Rock Studios, the company that brought you Left 4 Dead, is lining up a release date for their latest take on the multiplayer experience: “Evolve.”

The game puts a unique spin on multiplayer objectives by pitting four players (aka the Hunters) against one player (aka the Prey).  However, the game isn’t as one-sided as it sounds as the prey can quickly turn the table on the hunters thanks to their primal abilities and monstrous attributes.  The monster can also evolve during the game, allowing the single player to gain more abilities and become a deadlier force.

Meanwhile, the four hunters will have their own abilities and tricks that they’ll have to utilize in order to hunt down the monster.  Teammates are divide into four classes: Trapper, Support, Assault and Medic.  And not only will the hunters have to contend with the monster they’re hunting, but also the environment itself.

And now we know when the hunt will begin as Take Two has revealed that the game will ship on October 21st, 2014 for the XBox One, PS4, and PC.  Take Two has also revealed that participating retailers will offer a special pre-order bonus where you’ll get a new monster skin on laugh (Savage Goliath skin) and a second skin sometime after release.
