New Horror Movies on Netflix USA, Feb 2nd 2014

We all love to bemoan the poor selection on Netflix but in the same token where else can you find the selection they do have at the price they offer? Netflix continues to add more and more new titles both good and bad and we are back to recap the latest additions.

Last month we recapped 47 New Horror Movie Titles that were added to Netflix and now I have a smaller selection of freshly added horror movies. For each film I also took the time to grab a trailer.

Dario Argentos’ Dracula

Very few movies have had horror fans groaning as much as Dario Argento’s Dracula. That said most of us including me have not seen it but the wait is now over as it has landed on Netflix. When Englishman Jonathan Harker visits the exotic castle of Count Dracula, he is entranced by the mysterious aristocrat. But upon learning that the count has sinister designs on his wife, Mina, Harker seeks help from vampire slayer Van Helsing.

Dark Touch

Dark Touch is a film that up until now I have never even heard of but it does look incredibly creepy based off the trailer. The film is distributed by IFC which is quickly becoming the new Lionsgate when it comes to distributing great horror films.

After a remote country house takes on a malevolent persona and kills 11-year-old Neve’s family, no one believes her claim that her home is to blame. As cops look for human killers and friends take care of Neve, a hidden violence continues to build.

Nightmare Factory

Greg Nicotero is a legend in the horror genre for his work in special FX. In the past he may have been best known for his connection to Tom Savini but he has now become the biggest name in Hollywood with The Walking Dead catipulting him to new found fame.

Using the career of makeup effects guru Greg Nicotero as a case study, this documentary gives you a behind-the-scenes look at the crucial role Hollywood makeup departments play in bringing horror movies to life on the silver screen.

George A Romero’s Day of the Dead.

One of the greatest zombie movies of all time finally makes its way to Netflix.  The third chapter in writer-director George Romero’s zombie saga finds scientists and soldiers hiding in a bunker to escape a world overrun by the undead. The two groups butt heads, but infighting takes a backseat when zombies invade the facility.

Let us know which of the films you have seen and which you liked and disliked.
