Oren Peli’s Chernobyl Diaries Gets a Release Date

Oren Peli’s (Paranormal Activity) latest venture, the horror-thriller which is entitled the Chernobyl Diaries has recently been picked up for distribution and a release date has already been set.

According to Variety, Alcon Entertainment has picked up Oren Peli’s Chernobyl Diaries which is being directed by Brad Parker. The deal involves distribution in North America as well as Germany, Spain and Japan.

The film will hit theatres this year on Memorial Day weekend via Warner Bros. and Alcon Entertainment.

“An original story by Peli, “Chernobyl Diaries” is set in the city of Prypiat that once housed the workers of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor. Story follows a group of friends who, while vacationing in Europe, find themselves stranded in the abandoned city only to discover that they are not alone.”
