Prometheus Trailer: Executive Respond To Leak

Many of us fans and even many journalists have been spouting that Prometheus is a prequel to Ridley Scott’s Alien. The though has been shot down many times in the past, but there is still that promise of Alien DNA being involved and many are hoping for a prequel.

While at one time I believed it was a true prequel, I’m unsure as to what we will get. Fox CEO Tom Rothman recently caught up with MTV and gave them the low-down as to whether Prometheus is a prequel or not.

When questioned as to whether Prometheus could share share some continuity with Alien, Rothman explained;

“I suppose if you want to definitionally be that literal, but it does it a great disservice. I will tell you, here’s the way to think about it. If you looked at the whole movie, 95 percent of it is entirely unto itself,” Rothman said. “Ridley said it right: If you’re a fan and you look closely, you’ll spot strands of DNA.” Rothman continues, “I’ll tell you the great thing: It’s way bigger than that. The ideas are way bigger, way more original and — it’s a scary word — way more profound.”
