[Trailer]From the Director of the ‘The Collector’ comes ‘The Neighbor’

I’m not entirely sure, but I feel like the “The Collector” films were mostly positively received by horror fans.  I know I really enjoyed them and I thought actor Josh Stewart was a fantastic lead.  So when I heard “The Collector” director Marcus Dunstan and Stewart were reteaming on a new project I got pretty damn interested.

And now we have a look at the trailer and it looks good, but you can definitely see the influences of “The Collector” carrying over into this project.  So depending on how you felt about those movies might be good or bad.  Here’s how it’s described:

The film takes place in the small town of Cutter, Mississippi, where most people keep to themselves. But when John (Josh Stewart) comes home to find his girlfriend Rosie (Alex Essoe) missing, he suspects his mysterious and off-putting neighbor (Bill Engvall) is somehow involved. John learns that Rosie’s life is not all that is at stake after a visit to his neighbor’s cellar. It becomes clear that the seemingly quiet town is more dangerous than it looks, and John and Rosie must do more than just run away if they want to survive the night.

Probably the most staggering thing about this project is the idea that Bill Engvall is playing a menacing role.  I’ve seen some of Bill’s comedy and I like it, but I never would have imagined him in a role like this in a million years.  It’d be like Jeff Foxworthy putting on a gimp suit and terrorizing a bunch of campers.  It’s just impossible to imagine.  But seeing it in action, I completely buy into crazy Bill and I’m looking forward to seeing his performance.

Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.  “The Neighbor” hits VOD and blu-ray on September 9, 2016.
