The proposed direct sequel to Tobe Hooper’s 1974 film looks as if it is well underway, according to Bloody-Disgusting John Luessenhop is very close to directing Leatherface 3D which is set to begin shooting in Shreveport, Louisiana in June.
Casting is said to be well underway and we also have an updated plot crunch courtesy of B-D, check it out below:
“The seventh incarnation is a direct sequel to Tobe Hooper’s classic 1974 film that follows the lead character, Heather, who along with her friends, travel to Texas in order to collect an inheritance. The spin? What would you do if you found out your cousin was Leatherface, and he was now YOURS?”
The site is also reporting that whoever is cast as Heather will also be locked in for multiple sequels along we other characters in the film. So I’m guessing we have many more Leatherface titles on the horizon.
